Shadows of monuments
In project "Shadows" trough performance author renders shadows of demolished monuments. Through performance, he ritually evokes repressed memories to violently removed symbolic content from the public space and through this ceremony he creates new non-material monument. After the performance remains a material mark on the pavement which is interpreted as a monument itself; a new monument to the old demolished one. The nem monument is made of impermanent material and will disappear with time. In the meanwhile it gives the opportunity to the community to part from object and its symbolic content which has been violently removed from public space.
So far shadows have been created in the number of Balcan public spaces:
removed monument to Partican Upheaval in Koprivnica, Croatias
destroyed fountain "Bajamontuša" in Split, Croatia
missing monument to Lenin in Sisak, Croatia.
destroyed monuments to Emperor and King Franz Joseph and to the King Peter Karadjordjevic in Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
